The Braject is almost finished! I’ve finished sewing all the myriad decorations on the bra, and now I just have to sew shoulder straps on and trim all the dangling bits of thread.
The glass beads and the belly drape are from Hobby Lobby. The fabric, both the lace and the fabric underneath, are from JoAnn’s Fabric. The gorgeous Turkoman buttons were ordered from Sirik Tribal’s ebay store and were also used the matching headpiece.
Still at work on my tribal fusion bra project, but I managed to finish a matching headpiece. I used Turkoman buttons (“nipple buttons” according to my husband), gold glass beads, bronze pearlesque beads, and a remnant of gold lace left over from working on the bra. I need to add ties, but it’s almost ready for the hafla on Saturday!

Hi! I'm Jenny.
I fell in love with belly dance when I worked at the Georgia Renaissance Festival. I was worked at a jewelry booth across from the Marrakesh Mews stage in 2007, and I watched every show the Awalim Dance Company performed.
I started taking belly dancing lessons in January 2010 and I absolutely love it. . I take classes at Floorspace Dance in Athens, Georgia, owned by lovely dancer Christy Fricks.
I like to write about what I learn in classes and workshops, to help me remember and to mark my progress as a dancer. Right now I'm loving the Turkish Tribal classes I'm taking from Christy Fricks and Tribal Odyssey group improv classes taught by Rajni. I love American Tribal Style and am working through the FatChanceBellyDance DVDs.
This blog is also a scrapbook of sorts, as I post pictures of dancers and costumes that inspire me. I try to give credit for every photograph I publish; if a picture is not attributed correctly, please let me know and I'll correct it.
I also write regularly in my life blog, dandelion breath, and I post fantasy book reviews and write about library-related information at Stone Soup Books.
